Course Description

Remember about compulsory COVID testing before the start of the DSE2021 school between 7:30 and 8:30 on Monday

The DSE 2021 summer school will contain two types of classes: traditional lectures in the first half of each day, and interactive knowledge sharing research workshops in the second half. The lectures will be broadcasted online and therefore accessible for the remote participants. Afternoon sessions will only be run in face-to-face format and will not be recorded.

This year DSE school is targeting advanced PhD students who have made considerable progress in their own research projects. For the afternoon research workshop sessions, each student admitted in person will make a 15 min presentation of their project to the class with the economic question, a concise setup of the problem and the most important current roadblock at present. Put differently, this is a chance to improve the paper and should not be an advertising session. It will be very appropriate to bring up the difficulties and bottlenecks faced during the project. The introduction will be followed by a 15 min group discussion, comments form the lecturers of the summer school, and general sharing of experience. Commitment to friendship and mutual support is expected from all participants.

The annual DSE conference is held during the 4th and 5th day of the DSE summer school in the same premises. All students have access to the conference and are encouraged to attend it and use this opportunity to familiarize themselves with the frontier research in the field.
