Practical information for the participants
Venue
June 8 to 12 (Monday to Friday):
The first 2 days of DSE 2019 summer school, the DSE 2019 Conference and one more day of teaching will take place at the Gleacher Center, room 300.
June 13 and 14 (Saturday and Sunday):
The last two days of classes will take place at the Saieh Hall on the University of Chicago campus, Hyde Park (room SH 021).

Airport Directions for Hyde Park
If you are leaving on Sunday from Hyde Park, your public transport options will be somewhat limited.
To O’Hare Airport
From Hyde Park Campus by Public Transit
- Walk north to 55th Street University to catch the number 55 bus headed west (away from the lake)
- Transfer at Garfield Station and take the Red Line to Howard
- Transfer from the Red Line at Lake Station and alight a Blue Line train to Forest Park at Washington Station in downtown Chicago (These are both underground stations)
- Get off the train at O’Hare Airport From Downtown by Public Transit
- Alight a Blue Line train to Forest Park at Washington Station in downtown Chicago
- Get off the train at O’Hare Airport
To Midway Airport
From Hyde Park Campus by Public Transit
- Walk north to 55 th Street University to catch the number 55 bus headed west (away from the lake)
- Alight at Midway Airport at the end of the line. From Downtown by Public Transit
- Alight the Orange Line train to Midway at the State/Lake station on the Loop (the elevated tramway)
Alternately, you may take a Lyft, Uber, or use the Curb app to flag a local Chicago taxi. There is also a variety of shuttle services that you can book prior to Sunday.
When planning to get to the airport, allow for traffic! Allow for at least a half an hour to Midway from Hyde Park; an hour from Downtown. Allow an hour and a half to O’Hare from Hyde Park or Downtown.
Accommodation
Participants of the DSE summer school should arrange their own accommodation. The organizers of the summer school and the conference have arranged special rates at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile.
